I took this picture on May 2005 in Shanghai. This stone wall expresses “Bund 18” on the wall, where Chartered Bank was operating. The letters of INDIA and AUSTRALIA are slightly engraved on the wall of the building.

This street is Nanjing East Road. Here is the busiest road in Shanghai. Since around 2010, the shared percentage of chain stores has become the majority, and the sense of modernity has disappeared. It is a little disappointing.
This street is called Huaihai Zhong Road, where the most fashionable buildings and shops in Shanghai spread. Once upon a time, This road was a French settlement (the French Bund).
